What does pico top mean in crypto?

The pico top is the exact highest point a coin's price reaches before it turns down. "Pico" means tiny, as in the very tip of the top.

"Calling the pico top" means saying in advance that this is the peak. Traders also joke about "buying the pico top", which is the same thing as top blasting.

An example

A coin climbs to $2.47 and then falls 40% over a week. $2.47 was the pico top. Someone who sold at $2.45 sold almost at the pico top; someone who bought at $2.46 bought it.

Why it matters to a beginner

Trying to sell at the exact top usually means holding too long and selling much lower. Taking profit in steps works better than waiting for the perfect moment.

What to watch for

  • Posts confidently calling "the top" or "the bottom".
  • Your own urge to wait for one more push up.
  • A plan that only works if your timing is perfect.
